Paul Simon Set for Three Prague Concerts in 2026
Prague Morning
Paul Simon is preparing to bring his A Quiet Celebration Tour to Europe, with Prague among the key stops on his 2026 schedule.
The American songwriter will appear at the Prague Congress Center on April 9, 10 and 12, presenting the chamber-style program that earned strong reviews during its U.S. run.
Instead of beginning with his most familiar hits, the concerts open with Seven Psalms, a 33-minute acoustic composition released to widespread critical praise. Written for voice and minimal instrumentation, the piece was performed almost entirely by Simon in the studio.
The Guardian described it as a “master suite,” while the Times of London called it a “remarkable album.” Simon has often said he views the audience as a participant in the work, which is why he chose intimate halls with top-level acoustics for the tour.
After a brief intermission, the evening shifts toward his catalogue of classics, including newly arranged versions of well-known songs and a number of tracks he seldom played live. The second half of the show revisits a body of work that began more than six decades ago.
Simon’s career first accelerated in 1966, when The Sound of Silence, recorded with Art Garfunkel, reached number one in the United States. Their album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. went on to sell more than a million copies, followed by a series of releases that culminated in Bridge Over Troubled Water in 1970. Although the duo split soon after, they were jointly inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Simon moved quickly into a solo career and remained active on the international stage. He performed at an anti-war event at New York’s Shea Stadium in August 1970 and continued to release albums that sent him touring across the world. His first concert in Prague took place in June 1990, the year he also served on an international commission overseeing the free elections in post-revolution Czechoslovakia.
As a solo artist, he entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame again in 2001. Over the years he has earned a dozen Grammy Awards, while Rolling Stone placed him eighth on its list of the 100 greatest songwriters.
