President Pavel on working visit to Germany

President Petr Pavel is due to travel to Berlin on Wednesday where he will be received by his German counterpart President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Bellevue Palace. On Thursday, the Czech head of state will travel to Rome where he will attend an international conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Towns in Moravia and Silesia brace for heavy rain and possible flooding

Rivers draining the Beskydy, Javorníky, White Carpathians and Jeseníky mountains are expected to swell significantly on Tuesday night and Wednesday due to prolonged, heavy to extreme rainfall. Water levels may reach the first or second flood alert level, while smaller streams in the Olše River basin could even rise to the highest, third level.

Czech divers document wartime wreck of Italian ship off Albanian coast

A team of Czech divers and historians has successfully documented the wreck of the Italian transport ship Firenze, sunk by a Greek submarine during World War II. The expedition, led by the Czech Diving Team in cooperation with Albanian Diving Federation, is the first foreign mission to explore the site.
