A new airline brand, Air 001, is preparing to enter the Czech market with charter flights to popular seaside destinations.

The carrier was established this year by Polish travel agency Itaka in partnership with Bulgarian airline Electra Airways, according to the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita.

Air 001 is expected to collaborate closely with Čedok, the Czech subsidiary of Itaka, which will likely handle its charter operations.

Čedok, one of the country’s oldest travel agencies, has so far worked with the carrier Smartwings, but the new partnership is expected to strengthen its position in the holiday flight segment.

Čedok confirmed that the new airline brand will be officially introduced on November 5, with flights scheduled to begin in the summer season of 2026.

“The new carrier will expand the range of flights from regional airports and improve access to popular holiday destinations,” the company said in a statement.

The Air 001 fleet currently includes three Airbus A320s and one larger Airbus A321, already operating charter flights from Poland and Slovakia.

During its first operational season, the airline reportedly completed around 1,400 flights, transporting approximately 240,000 passengers—nearly one-fifth of Itaka’s total customer base, Rzeczpospolita reported.

Air 001’s model allows Itaka to run its own branded flights without obtaining an independent air operator certificate. Electra Airways provides both the aircraft and operational services, while Itaka focuses on sales and destination management.

For Czech travelers, the partnership could mean more direct connections to Mediterranean resorts in the coming years.
