Open-Air Summer Cinema at Holešovice Market – Every Thursday at 9 PM | Food Truck Point
One of Prague’s favorite late-summer traditions continues at the Holešovice Market. Each Thursday evening, the Food Truck Point transforms into an open-air cinema, screening cult classics and local favorites under the stars—with food and drinks just steps away.
August lineup:

- Aug 21: The Big Lebowski
- Aug 28: Top Gun
Entry is free, and no reservations are needed.
Day of Jewish Monuments, August 10, 10 AM–5 PM | Various locations
Held annually on the second Sunday of August, Jewish Monuments Day opens otherwise paid or restricted sites to the public, free of charge. In Prague, visitors can explore the Jerusalem Synagogue, where two permanent exhibitions delve into the preservation and history of Jewish cultural landmarks.
The day is part of a larger initiative covering sites across Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia.
FOK Concert in Wallenstein Garden – August 27, 5 PM–7 PM | Wallenstein Garden, Malá Strana
Prague’s Symphony Orchestra FOK returns to the tranquil Wallenstein Garden for a free concert led by conductor Jan Kučera. The program includes:
- Slavonic Dances by Antonín Dvořák
- Sinfonietta and Louisa Polka by Bedřich Smetana
- Excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty
- Film music by Karel Svoboda, including Night at Karlštejn and Three Nuts for Cinderella
This year, the performance features a special appearance by children from the National Theatre’s Ballet Preparatory School.
NeverMore 68: Remembering the Invasion – August 21, 3 PM–11 PM | Výstaviště Prague
On the anniversary of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact troops, Prague hosts the fourth edition of the NeverMore 68 festival. This year’s focus: How the world saw August 1968, exploring international media coverage of the event.
The day-long festival includes:
- Podcast stage with debates and interviews
- Live concerts from Czech musicians
- Historical exhibitions from organizations like Post Bellum, Gulag.cz, and Political Prisoners.cz
- Military equipment display from the Rokycany Demarcation Line Museum, including a T-55 tank
- Screenings of archival footage and documentaries
- Food, drinks, and seating throughout the day
Flašinet is Alive: Mechanical Music Festival – August 16, 10 AM–8 PM | Kampa
The 12th annual international barrel organ festival brings local and international artists to Prague’s streets. The music starts at 10 AM inside St. Nicholas Church on Old Town Square, with unique arrangements of classical pieces.
At 3 PM, performers move to Na Kampě Square, and from 7 PM, the event closes at the Czech Museum of Music with a cross-genre concert featuring everything from classical to folk and pop.
