Direct Prague-Cork Flights Are Coming Back After 17 Years!
Prague Morning
After nearly two decades, direct air service between Prague and Cork is making a comeback.
Starting October 23, 2025, Aer Lingus will launch a new twice-weekly route connecting Václav Havel Airport Prague with Ireland’s second-largest city.
Flights will run every Thursday and Sunday, operated by an Airbus A320 with 174 seats.
The announcement was made by Jiří Hannich, spokesperson for Prague Airport. The last time passengers could fly directly between Prague and Cork was in 2008.
“This is Aer Lingus’s second regular route from Prague,” said Hannich. “The airline already connects Prague to Dublin daily during the summer season.” This Prague–Dublin connection will shift to six flights a week during the winter timetable.
The decision to relaunch Cork flights is seen as a strategic expansion for Aer Lingus, which has maintained a steady presence in Prague for 23 years.
“We welcome this new route and look forward to continuing our cooperation with Aer Lingus,” said Jiří Vyskoč, Executive Director of Airline Business Development at Prague Airport. “It not only strengthens ties between the two countries, but also opens new travel opportunities for Czech tourists interested in discovering Ireland.”
Some highlights for visiting Czechs include the Cork City Gaol, now a museum showcasing prison life in the 19th century, and the Butter Museum, a nod to Cork’s past as a global center for butter exports.
Art lovers can explore the Crawford Art Gallery, home to an extensive collection of European works from the 18th century onward. Two notable churches, the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne and St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, also stand out among the city’s landmarks.
