Big Move: Metronome Festival Relocates to Letňany After 10 Years

Prague Morning

After ten years at Výstaviště, Metronome Festival is preparing for a major transformation.

The 2026 edition will take place from June 19 to 21 at the Letňany Airport grounds, marking a new era for one of the Czech capital’s biggest music events.

Festival co-founder David Gaydečka announced that Metronome has entered a strategic partnership with Live Nation Czech Republic, one of the country’s leading concert promotion companies.

The first confirmed headliner for next year’s event is Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, returning to Prague as part of their European tour.

“Nick Cave is an artist who feels a deep connection with Czech audiences,” said Gaydečka. “He wanted to come back to celebrate our tenth anniversary with us. His relationship with Prague has always been special — and we couldn’t imagine a better way to start this new chapter.”

According to Ondřej Pojzl of Live Nation Czech Republic, joining the Metronome team has been long in the making.

“For several years, there’s been an internal wish for our Czech branch to co-organize a major festival, as is standard for Live Nation offices around the world,” Pojzl explained. “When the opportunity with Metronome came up, it made perfect sense.”

Organizers say that the collaboration will bring a stronger infrastructure, broader lineup diversity, and a more ambitious cultural program that blends music, art, discussions, gastronomy, and social topics. The Letňany location offers ample space and better accessibility for visitors, while enabling the festival to grow its signature concept.

Over the past decade, Metronome Prague has hosted an impressive lineup of international acts, including Sting, Iggy Pop, Beck, Jamiroquai, Kraftwerk, Primal Scream, Zaz, and Liam Gallagher.

This year’s highlight was Alanis Morissette, who performed to mark the 30th anniversary of her landmark album Jagged Little Pill.

Live Nation Czech Republic, part of the world’s largest live entertainment company, organizes tens of thousands of concerts and festivals globally each year.
