A survey presented yesterday by representatives of the Psychiatric Clinic of the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague reveals that one in ten young adults in the Czech Republic experience severe depression symptoms, while one in six report moderate symptoms. The researchers urge politicians to prioritize this issue, highlighting the need for improved prevention measures and professional services.
* WEATHER:
Rain and thunderstorms are predicted on Friday in some parts of Czechia, with the most severe storms expected in the mountainous belt from the Ore Mountains to the White Carpathians. Daytime temperatures should range between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius.

President Petr Pavel has suffered a minor accident while riding his motorcycle, the president’s office announced on social media site X on Thursday evening. Although his injuries aren’t serious, he has been taken to the Central Military Hospital in Prague for examination.
* TRAVEL:
On Friday, 31 May, Czech carrier RegioJet will launch a bus service from Prague to the Croatian resort town of Split. The destination will be served by the company’s most modern bus – a double-decker Setra S-531-DT. In June and September it will be operated three times a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays), and in July and August – daily.
