Air carrier Smartwings is adding a new destination to its autumn offering. On November 1, the airline is launching direct scheduled flights from Prague to Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The service will be operated twice a week. Cairo is the seventh Smartwings destination in Egypt, in addition to Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm Al Sheikh, Al Alamain, Taba, and Marsa Matrouh.
Flight tickets to Cairo are already available on Smartwings and Czech Airlines websites (under a code-share agreement) and from flight ticket vendors.
Flight will depart from Prague Airport every Wednesday and Saturday night at 22:50 with arrival in Cairo at 3:40 local time. The return flight from Cairo to Prague is scheduled to depart from Cairo on Thursday and Sunday at 4:30 local time, with arrival at Prague Airport at 7:35.
“We are happy to be able to offer our customers direct flights between Prague and Cairo, Egypt, for the first time ever. We are also planning to increase the capacity and frequency of flights to this attractive destination for the summer flight schedule,” says Petr Šujan, Smartwings Sales Director.
Smartwings will offer direct flights from Czech airports to more than two dozen destinations under the winter schedule.
Smartwings will operate scheduled flights to Dubai, UAE; the four Canary Islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura; Málaga and Valencia, Spain; Mallorca; Tel Aviv, Israel; Madeira (Funchal); Cairo, Hurghada and Marsa Alam, Egypt; and newly also Antalya, Turkey. The Prague-Antalya service will be operated twice a week (Thursday, Sunday) under the winter schedule. Smartwings will operate the flights to Egypt (Hurghada, Marsa Alam) from Brno and Ostrava.
During the winter period, Smartwings will dispatch charter flights for travel agencies from Prague to the Cape Verde Islands, Salalah and Muscat in Oman, Ras Al Khaimah (UAE), the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Taba, the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, and Kayseri in Turkey.
Charter flights to Hurghada and Marsa Alam will depart from Brno and Ostrava.
