On Saturday, August 23, 2025, dozens of Czech castles, châteaux, fortresses, and monasteries will open their gates after sunset for Castle-Château Night.

This nationwide event marks the grand finale of the summer season, turning castles into night-time stages, where visitors wander by torchlight, hear music in the courtyards, and step into rooms lit only by candles.

The highlight of 2025 will take place at the Uherčice State Chateau in South Moravia.

Under this year’s theme, The Year of Italian Nobility, visitors will step into a newly restored west wing for the first time, exploring a route dedicated to Rambaldo XIII Collalto.

The courtyard will offer authentic Italian pizza, refreshing ice cream, and crafted cocktails, while guides in Empire-era costume bring history to life. The night will conclude with a captivating light show.

Other participating sites include Moravský Krumlov, Český Šternberk, Loučeň, Rabí, Vranov nad Dyjí, Lemberk, Kunětická hora, Náchod, Plasy, Krásný Dvůr, and many more. Expect costumed storytelling, live music, children’s activities, games, and fireworks.

Prague – Where to Spend Castle-Château Night

In the capital, several historic sites will open after hours for Castle-Château Night.

Visitors can walk through the Hartig Palace, explore the Chvalský Chateau, or step inside Invalidovna, a Baroque complex rarely accessible in the evening.

The Senate of the Czech Republic will also open its doors, along with the terraced Gardens beneath Prague Castle, offering one of the city’s best night views.
