Peter Doherty Brings Indie-Folk to Prague on May 3
Prague Morning
Peter Doherty, the English musician, songwriter, and poet, is coming to Prague.
Best known as the frontman of indie rock bands The Libertines and Babyshambles, Doherty has shaped British indie music for over two decades with his raw energy, poetic lyrics, and storytelling talent.
Born on March 12, 1979, in Hexham, England, Doherty rose to fame with The Libertines, which he co-founded with Carl Barât in 1997.
Singing, playing guitar, and writing most of the lyrics, he was hailed as one of the most promising lyricists of his generation. The Libertines’ 2002 debut album, Up the Bracket, remains a classic of the genre.
After the breakup of The Libertines, Doherty formed Babyshambles in 2003 and released albums including Down in Albion and Shotter’s Nation. In 2009, he launched a solo career, moving toward an indie-folk sound.
His latest album, Felt Better Alive (2025), blends acoustic, orchestral, and country elements with his signature melodic and poetic style. The record was written during a meaningful period in his life—while his wife Katia was expecting their child.
“They’re not necessarily happy songs, but they have something uplifting about them, even if they’re about something melancholic,” Doherty explains.
He will present this new album to Czech audiences on May 3, 2026, at MeetFactory.
Tickets are available for 890 CZK on GoOut, and the event is organized by RFP Concerts.
