Police in Prague 4 are looking for a man who violently assaulted a woman in the early hours of Monday, July 28.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. as the victim, a 47-year-old woman, got off night bus 904 and walked toward Na Okruhu Street.

According to Czech police, the attacker followed the woman for a short distance before grabbing her by the neck without saying a word, dragging her to the ground and snatching her handbag.

The bag reportedly contained valuables worth around CZK 10,000. After the assault, the man fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Investigators have obtained clear CCTV footage of the suspect. Since they have not yet been able to identify him, they are now appealing to the public for assistance.

“He is approximately 30 years old, of slim build, and stands around 180 centimeters tall,” said police spokesperson Richard Hrdina.

Police describe the man as wearing white Nike sneakers with orange soles at the heel, black three-quarter-length trousers with distinct side pockets, a white T-shirt, and a black cap with ‘NY’ written on it.

“If anyone recognizes this man or has any information that could lead to his identification, please contact the police line at 158,” Hrdina added. “He is suspected of robbery, a crime that carries a sentence of up to ten years in prison under Czech law.”
