Two men were stabbed on a Prague bus Thursday night following a confrontation that began when a group of men harassed a female passenger.

The victims were treated by emergency services, with one reported in critical condition, and police are now seeking witnesses.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on bus route 136.

According to Prague police spokesperson Jan Daněk, the conflict erupted after a woman objected to the behavior of three Czech-speaking men. Another passenger intervened on her behalf, and the dispute escalated.

During the altercation, knives were drawn, resulting in stab wounds for two men from the group that had initially harassed the passengers.

Emergency services spokeswoman Jana Poštová confirmed that one of the victims required urgent care due to the severity of his injuries.

This man was initially seen as the hero for defending the woman but is now under investigation as authorities work to piece together the events.

Investigators are especially interested in statements from the harassed woman and other passengers, many of whom left the bus after the violent incident.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the attack on bus route 136 around 10:30 p.m. to contact the police at 158.
