Free Sports Week Returns to Prague: Dozens of Activities Open to the Public

Prague Morning

Prague will once again invite residents to stay active during the holiday period with the 17th edition of Free Sports Week.

The event will run from Thursday, December 25 to Wednesday, December 31, 2025, offering free access to dozens of sports facilities across the capital.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to spend the final days of the year moving rather than sitting at home.

Swimming pools, ice rinks, gyms and outdoor sports grounds throughout Prague will open their doors to the public, allowing visitors to try a broad range of activities without paying an entrance fee. A detailed and regularly updated overview of venues, dates and conditions is available at prahasportovni.cz.

More than 40 different sports are expected to be available during the week.

In Prague 4, the Podolí Swimming Stadium will offer free access to both indoor and outdoor pools, while the HAMR sports complex in Braník will open its football pitches. Baseball and softball activities will be available at Eagles Park, and public skating will take place at the HC Kobra Prague rink.

Prague 5 will join with free swimming at the newly renovated SK Motorlet swimming pool. In Prague 6, residents can use beach volleyball courts at Beachclub Strahov, play badminton at TJ Tatran Střešovice, or visit Sport Centrum Evropská for fitness training and squash.

Public skating will also be available in Prague 2 at the USK Prague ice rink in ZS Hasa. In Prague 3, Boulder V síti will open its climbing walls to visitors of all ages.

Prague 7 will take part through the Výstaviště complex, where free skating will be offered in the Small Sports Hall and free swimming at the local pool.

In the northern part of the city, TJ Sokol Prosek in Prague 9 will host activities including gymnastics, dance and zumba. Prague 10 will be represented by public skating at the HC Slavia Prague Winter Stadium and outdoor badminton and futsal at TJ Astra Zahradní Město.

The range of activities includes swimming, skating, climbing, fitness training, badminton, baseball, softball and various group classes. The city notes that additional sports venues may still join the program in the coming days.

Visitors should be aware that some locations require advance reservation due to limited capacity, either by phone or online.
