Prague to Zagreb Direct Flight Returns This Summer

After a four-year break, direct flights between Prague and Zagreb will resume this summer, offering a convenient connection for both tourists and business travelers.

The service, operated by Croatia Airlines, will be available from July 2, running three times a week.

According to Jiří Hannich, spokesperson for Václav Havel Airport Prague, the airline will operate the Airbus A220-300 with a capacity of 149 passengers. Flights will depart Prague at 14:10, arriving in Zagreb at 15:20, while the return flight will leave Zagreb at 12:10, landing in Prague at 13:20.

The air route between Prague and Zagreb has a long history, dating back to the 1930s when it was first introduced by the former Czechoslovak State Airlines. However, service was frequently interrupted over the decades, with the most recent suspension occurring in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, the renewed connection aligns with Prague Airport’s strategy of expanding links to all European capitals. “In 2019, over 25,000 passengers traveled on this route. Croatia remains a top holiday destination for Czech tourists, but we also anticipate strong demand from business travelers,” said Jaroslav Filip, Director of Airline Business at Prague Airport.

More Flights to Croatia This Summer

In addition to the Prague-Zagreb route, Croatia Airlines is expanding capacity on other flights between Prague and Croatia. From May, the airline will increase flights to Dubrovnik, now operating twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. A direct route to Split will also run twice weekly, on Mondays and Saturdays, throughout the summer season.

With the summer season approaching, the return of direct flights between Prague and Zagreb will provide greater accessibility and flexibility for those traveling between the two capitals.
