November 17 Celebrations to Affect Roads and Transport in Prague
Prague Morning
Large public events planned for Monday, November 17, will reshape traffic flows across central Prague, with closures affecting both cars and public transport throughout the day.
The most extensive limits will be around Národní třída, where preparations for the annual Korzo Národní programme began on Sunday evening.
The entire stretch between the National Theatre and Jungmannovo náměstí will close to road traffic early Monday. Tram operations through the corridor will stop for the day.
Several tram lines will be rerouted, including lines 2, 9, 18, 22, 23 and 42, which will divert through Jiráskovo náměstí. Line 23 will terminate at Plzeňka, while line 9 will use the Myslíkova route from Lazarská.
Line 18 will run via Výtoň, and lines 22 and 42 will move through Moráň before rejoining regular service. Full access to Národní Street will return shortly after midnight between Monday and Tuesday.
Celebrations will also transform Wenceslas Square, where the Concert for the Future 2025 will take over the lower section between Jindřišská, Vodičkova, 28. října and Na Příkopě streets. Parking bans come into effect early Sunday morning at 6 a.m. and apply to the entire right side of the lower square. Supply vehicles will be allowed limited entry on Monday through the left lane, following posted instructions.
A separate parking ban will apply on Jindřišská Street from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tram service running through the middle of Wenceslas Square, however, will operate normally.
City officials say additional staff from the Prague Public Transit Company will oversee operations and coordinate with police as needed. Travellers are encouraged to check dpp.cz for updates on closures, detours and emergency adjustments throughout the day.
