The first branch of the German healthy concept dean&david has officially opened in Prague on the ground floor of the Mรกj department store.
Dean & David brings its vision of modern gastronomy to the Czech capital: high-quality, honest, and simple food that is quick and delicious. The space is designed to be a welcoming spot for all, whether youโre meeting friends, enjoying a great cup of coffee, or grabbing a quick snack.
โWe believe that food connects people. Thatโs why weโve created a place where everyone can feel welcome,โ says Jan Hejda, CEO of dean&david Czech Republic.
Founded and led by David Baumgartner, founder and CEO, in 2007, Dean & David has since expanded worldwide. Its slogan is โfresh to eatโ.
A Menu with Global Flavours
The menu features a variety of delicious options, including quinoa bowls, handmade wraps with rich fillings, flatbreads, and sandwiches. For fans of Thai and Indian flavors, there are also curry dishes to enjoy.
Seasonal soups round out the offerings, ensuring something for everyone. If youโre craving something sweet or refreshing, youโll find plenty of options, from natural smoothies to cold-pressed juices, all complemented by locally sourced coffee from Nordbeans.
Authenticity and Sustainability at Every Step
At dean&david, every meal is made from carefully selected natural ingredients, with no artificial additives or flavourings. Sustainability is also a key priority. From reusable packaging to biodegradable bowls and recycled bags, the brand is committed to reducing its environmental impact.
The food chain has identified significant potential in the Czech market, particularly in Prague, where few businesses operate on a similar principle. Currently, only Puzzle Salads and UGO branches offer comparable concepts.
This year, the chain aims to open at least six new branches. โWe are already in discussions with other cities, such as Pardubice and Brno. Some branches, especially those outside of Prague, could be operated by franchisees,โ said Andrej Zajcev, who introduced the concept to the Czech Republic.
He added that the company envisions opening more than 25 locations over the next decade.
โWeโll see how the concept develops, but weโre committed to expanding beyond Prague,โ noted another company representative, Hejda.
