Champions League Draw: Slavia to Face Barcelona, Arsenal, and Inter

Prague Morning

The draw for the UEFA Champions League group phase took place in Monaco, and Slavia Prague now knows the scale of the challenge ahead.

The Czech champions have been handed some of Europe’s biggest names, ensuring Eden Arena will host several headline matches this autumn.

Slavia will face Barcelona and Arsenal in front of their home fans, alongside matches against Norway’s Bodø/Glimt and Spain’s Athletic Bilbao, a club they already encountered in last season’s Europa League.

The away schedule is no less demanding. The Prague side will travel to Milan to take on Inter at the San Siro, to Bergamo for Atalanta, and to London for Tottenham Hotspur, whose goalkeeper Antonín Kinský moved from Slavia during the winter.

The group also includes a trip to Cyprus to face Pafos FC.

New Format, New Challenge

The revamped Champions League features 36 teams, divided across four seeding pots. Slavia, drawn from the lowest pot, landed in what looks like one of the most challenging paths.

Each club plays eight league-phase fixtures—four at home, four away—before the knockout rounds. The competition begins on September 16, 2025.

The draw ceremony in Monaco featured football legends, including Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimović and Brazil’s Kaká, who helped unveil the matchups.
