From August 20 to 24, the Sour Beer Festival returns to Permanent Pragovka in Prague’s Vysočany district.

The organizers are launching a new format under the name SourFest XXL, promising a wider range of styles and brewers.

The festival will feature special batches brewed exclusively for the event, as well as a curated selection of sours from across Europe.

The festival’s 2025 edition will focus on a curated range of sour beers, including:

• Special beers brewed exclusively for the event
• Top sours from the Berlin brewing scene
• Polish fruit “bombs” with high acidity and strong fruit character
• Wild-fermented specialties from Austria and Croatia
• A bright-blue “Smurf” sour called Blue Lagoon

“We’ve always been drawn to sour beers because of their variety and complexity,” the organizers said. “Each edition of the festival is about presenting new interpretations and pushing the boundaries of what beer can be.”

Unlike traditional beer festivals, this edition won’t feature individual brewery booths.

Instead, all beers will be poured directly from the venue’s 18 taps, with even more possibly available.

The venue, Permanent Pragovka, is located near Kolbenova metro station and is part of the Pragovka Art District, a former industrial zone now used for contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events.

The outdoor area will also be open, allowing visitors to sit in the garden surrounded by murals and installations.

Admission is free, and payments can be made by card or cash.
