From Ambient to Techno: Spectaculare Festival Unveils Full Lineup
Prague Morning
Prague’s annual audiovisual festival Spectaculare returns on March 5 with a program that spans concerts, film screenings, workshops and exhibitions across the city.
Now in its thirteenth edition, the event presents seventeen programs, including eight Czech premieres and several first-time appearances in Prague.
The festival’s strongest draw comes at the end. On April 8, Berlin-based producer Apparat will perform at SaSaZu, introducing his new album A Hum of Maybe. Known for moving between club-driven electronics and restrained, song-based material, Apparat will appear with a live band, a format that has become central to his recent work.
Two days later, the closing night shifts to Palác Akropolis, where Canadian composer Flore Laurentienne will perform in Prague for the first time. His music blends orchestral writing with analog synthesizers in slowly unfolding compositions. The evening opens with Polish pianist Zuzanna Całka.
The opening night on March 5 brings British producer Rival Consoles and German composer Ben Lukas Boysen to MeetFactory. Both artists are known for carefully structured electronic compositions that build intensity through repetition and dynamic contrast.
On March 7, French producer Thylacine performs at Lucerna Music Bar, accompanied by pianist Bravin Karunanithy. The program also includes Czech pianist Beata Hlavenková in collaboration with producer HRTL, combining acoustic piano with modular synthesizers.

A focus on European labels continues on March 11, when Tonal Union presents Danish project Blue Lake and London collective Akusmi at Palác Akropolis. Their sets draw on ambient, minimalism and contemporary jazz.
Jazz returns to the same venue on March 18 with British trio Mammal Hands and Danish duo Bremer McCoy, offering two contrasting approaches to rhythm and repetition.
The festival also moves into Prague’s club scene. On March 20, Bike Jesus hosts Dutch producer Feiertag and British artist Klaverson, with sets built around live percussion, analog synthesizers and bass-heavy arrangements.
Ambient and visual elements converge on March 16 at CAMP, where German label Affin is represented by producers Joachim Spieth and Markus Guentner.
Piano Day Prague 2026 takes place on March 28 in the Mirror Chapel of the Klementinum, featuring Norwegian composer Otto A. Totland and the Mazoch & Libánský project.
Beyond concerts, the festival includes a film program at Bio Oko. Screenings include Ryuichi Sakamoto Opus, documenting the final concert of Ryuichi Sakamoto; Desire The Carl Craig Story, about Detroit techno figure Carl Craig; Monk in Pieces, focused on composer Meredith Monk; and S He Is Still Her e, dedicated to Genesis P-Orridge.
