Prague to Host Week-Long St. Patrick's Day Festival
Prague Morning
Prague will once again turn green this March as the Irish Times Bar St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2026 brings a week of Irish music, theatre, family events and celebrations to the city.
The festival, organised again this year by the Czech-Irish Business and Cultural Association in cooperation with local partners, will culminate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Prague’s city centre on Sunday, 15 March, transforming Wenceslas Square and the surrounding streets into a celebration of Irish culture.
Festival organisers say this year’s programme has been designed to showcase the diversity of Irish traditions while welcoming the wider international community living in Prague.
“St. Patrick’s Day in Prague has become a wonderful opportunity for Irish people abroad to share their culture with the people of Prague,” said Darragh Price of the festival organising committee.
“The festival is growing every year, and we’re delighted to offer events for families, theatre lovers, and anyone who enjoys Irish music, dance and community spirit.”
“Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, and the best way to join in the celebrations this year is to dress in green, white and orange, the national colours of Ireland,” continued Darragh Price of the CIBCA parade organising committee.

Festival Highlights
The celebrations begin Friday, 13 March, with a traditional St. Patrick’s Day Céilí hosted by TJ Academy of Irish Dance and Sona Sól, Veselá Kopýtka at the Emauzy Abbey hall in Prague 2. The evening will feature live Irish music and dancing, with tickets available at the door.
On Saturday, 14 March, Irish theatre arrives in Prague with a performance of John B. Keane’s classic comedy “Moll” at Divadlo 21 in Vinohrady. The play, known for its sharp humour and lively storytelling, will be performed by an Irish cast travelling to Prague specially for the festival.
Sunday will be a full day of family and community events.
The day begins with a Kids Céilí and Craft Workshop at Duplex on Wenceslas Square, offering children and families the chance to experience Irish dancing, music and arts in a relaxed setting.

The Irish Times Bar St. Patrick’s Day Parade – 15th March
Later that afternoon, the highlight of the festival takes place as The Irish Times Bar St. Patrick’s Day Parade sets off from Wenceslas Square at 14:30, bringing Irish music, colour and entertainment through the historic centre of Prague.
Participants from Irish cultural groups, community organisations, musicians and international residents are expected to join the parade as it winds its way toward the city centre.
Following the parade, the celebrations continue with a free public after party at Náměstí Republiky, featuring live entertainment and festival atmosphere until the evening.
Celebrations Continue on St. Patrick’s Day
The festival will also feature a St. Patrick’s Day Guinness Pop-Up event on Tuesday, 17 March, held at Holešovická Tržnice, offering live music, food and a lively Irish atmosphere to mark Ireland’s national day.
Gala Dinner in Support of Charity
The festival will conclude with the CIBCA St. Patrick’s Day Gala Dinner on Saturday, 21 March, held at Art Manes Restaurant. The annual gala supports the Czech charity Acorus, which provides assistance to victims of domestic violence.
