A Taste of Thailand Comes to Prague This September
Prague Morning

Thai cuisine, traditional crafts, and cultural performances will take over Písecká brána in Prague 6 on Friday, September 5, as the Royal Thai Embassy hosts its annual Thai Market.
Organized in cooperation with Team Thailand—which includes the Thai Trade Centre in Prague and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prague Office—the one-day event offers visitors a chance to explore Thailand’s rich cultural and culinary traditions.
Entry is free, and the market will run from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
According to H.E. Mr. Suwat Kaewsook, Thailand’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the event aims to deepen cultural and economic ties between the two countries. “It’s an opportunity for the people of Prague to discover the essence of Thailand – from its food and arts to hands-on activities,” said Kaewsook.
The program includes a variety of street food stalls featuring well-known Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Pad Gaprao (holy basil stir-fry), Mango Sticky Rice, and Steamed Sticky Rice with Banana. Drinks like Thai tea and fruit smoothies will also be available.
Beyond the food, the market will highlight various aspects of Thai culture:
- Muay Thai demonstrations showcasing Thailand’s national sport
- Thai massage sessions
- Traditional music and dance performances
- Workshops where visitors can try Thai origami, create postcards, or take part in tasting sessions
The event is designed to appeal to all age groups, with interactive elements and family-friendly activities.
