Historical Sights, Gorgeous Mountains; Wizz Air Launches Direct Flights to Yerevan
The Cascade Complex, the Matenadaran Armenian manuscript repository, and the Geghard Monastery, are among the attractions of Yerevan, the city to which Wizz Air ceremonially launched its operations from Prague Airport on Monday, 26 June.
The route to Zvartnots International Airport will be operated on Mondays and Fridays under the summer flight schedule, and on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the winter, using modern Airbus A321neo for 239 passengers.
“The new route to Yerevan has great potential. We believe that it will not only be popular with tourists, providing the option of exploring the two countries in both summer and winter, but also have a positive effect on the economic exchange between the Czech Republic and Armenia thanks to the easier connection,” Jiří Vyskoč, Prague Airport Executive Director for Aviation Business Development, said.
Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, is situated along the Hrazdan River. The fast-growing and vibrant city, founded far back in 782 BC, attracts tourists from all over the world every year with its fascinating mix of active city life and ancient history.
Another popular activity among tourists is a visit to the famous “Yerevan Brandy Company” production site, where they can taste the most characteristic drink of the region – cognac.
Armenia is a country with a rich cultural history, breathtaking nature, and a vibrant contemporary culture.
Zsuzsa Trubek, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, added:
“We are thrilled to have launched our new route from Prague to Yerevan. This new service will provide greater connectivity between the Czech Republic and Armenia at affordable rates, offering more choices to passengers. We are committed to providing exceptional service and comfort to our passengers, and this new connection reinforces our commitment to expanding our network and meeting the evolving travel demands. We look forward to welcoming travellers on board and providing them with a unique experience.”
