The regulations by DPP apply with immediate effect. The aim is to reduce the need for passengers to touch the buttons on the door and limit the spread of germs.
“In the rail transport network, unlike bus transport, this measure can be applied without any significant impact on the timetables, ” added DPP spokesperson.
Prague is taking steps to disinfect public transport vehicles such as the metro, buses, and trams with ozone.
A crisis response headquarters was formed at the municipality in recent days.
Meanwhile, the fourth case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was registered on Monday evening in Usti nad Labem. The 53-year-old woman returned recently from Venice. The fifth case is another American student.
“So far, 236 patients have been tested, 5 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed,” said Health Minister Adam Vojtěch on Tuesday 3 March.
The National Security Council is meeting again on Wednesday after having convened on Monday, when ministers announced restrictions on flights to South Korea and barred spectators at the upcoming World Cup biathlon.
