The exhibition “Art Behind the Line” is the first project that shows Prague metro stations as a space open for contemporary art.
The project was launched on May 11 as a cooperation between the Prague Public Transport (DPP) and the Prague City Gallery (GHMP) at four metro stations: Můstek (line A), Florenc, Náměstí Republiky and Karlovo náměstí on line B.
The exhibition runs through December 31, 2020, and showcase 16 works by 8 different artists.
Passengers can enjoy photographic works by Jiří Kovanda, Markéta Othová, Krištof Kintera, Timo, Lucia Sceranková, Ondřej Přibyl and the artistic duo Lukáš Jasanský – Martin Polák and Hynek Alt – Aleksandra Vajd.
Guided tours are also being prepared for those interested in both the works and the history and architecture of the metro stations.
