EgyptAir to Begin Weekly Flight Between Hurghada and Prague

EgyptAir will begin operating a weekly flight between Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Hurghada and Prague starting 23 May 2021.

According to an official statement by the national carrier on Thursday, there will be two flights weekly between Hurghada and Prague in June as part of efforts to promote tourism to the country.

EgyptAir already operates two weekly flights between Cairo and Budapest on Fridays and Tuesdays.

The flight will be operated by the airline’s latest Airbus A220-300, which is able to accommodate 140 passengers.

“We see an interesting potential for flights from Prague to other destinations in Egypt, which we are negotiating with different carriers,” said Jaroslav Filip, Director of Aviation at Prague Airport.

Tickets will be available for sale directly on the carrier’s website or through travel agencies with which the airline cooperates.

About Hurghada

The city was founded early in the 20th century and has continued to grow. Since the 1980s, both Egyptian and foreign investors have helped Hurghada to expand, resulting in the city becoming a leading resort destination on the Red Sea.

The city can be divided into three districts: El Dahhar, the old city centre in which traditional Egyptian life is still alive, the Al-Sakkala which is primarily a tourist hub with many hotels, shopping centres and restaurants, and finally, the Al-Ahiaa district along the coastal road which is the newer area.
