In the long-gone past, it was almost solely monasteries that were allowed to brew beer. That is why I feel it is appropriate to recommend a beer pub Klášterní sýpka in the oldest monastery in Czech lands – Břevnovský klášter.
Although the beer is not brewed by monks anymore, it is rather tasty and the offer is wide! To all beer lovers, this is another spot to visit in Prague. Apart from, for example, Kulový blesk or unmissable Zlý časy pubs.
The brewery is called “Břevnovský klášterní pivovar sv. Vojtěcha”, or the Břevnov monastery brewery of saint Vojtech. Uf! They offer light and dark beer, wheat, IPA, Stout and some heavier specials.
The pub interior is simple and also corresponds to the offer of meals. I recommend to treat it more as a bistro with lighter options.
