The famous Italian brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro has entered the Czech market.
You can already find it in some bars and restaurants, as well as in Albert, Billa, Rohlík, Makro, JIP and Lidl. The company Plzeňský Prazdroj will promote the product in the new market, but it will still be brewed in Bari, Padua and Rome.
“We want to give Czech beer lovers the opportunity to experience at home the same experience they have on a holiday in Italy. That is why we became the exclusive distributor of this unique icon of Italian beer. We believe that it will find its fans and adequately complement our portfolio. It will be loved by everyone who appreciates quality food and drinks. Anyone who likes to enjoy life to the fullest, whether it is a family dinner or sitting with friends,” advertised the product marketing director of Plzeňský Prazdroj Roman Trzaskalik.
According to him, Peroni Nastro Azzurro is a grass fermentation camp with golden color, white foam, 5% alcohol content and initial wort density of 11.45%.
Its distinctive flavor qualities are due to the addition of barley malt enriched with corn “Nostrano dell’Isola” and the balanced ratio of aromatic and bitter hops.
The character of the beer is also affected by soft water—water with few minerals. The result is a more fermented, refreshing, light coloured beer. The balanced taste also contains citrus notes and the aromatic hops give the drink characteristic soft bitterness.
Today Peroni Nastro Azzurr can be found in 74 countries. It sells 5.5 million hectolitres annually. In the Czech Republic, the novelty is sold in 0.33 litre glass bottles.
The recommended price is not indicated in the press release, but Rohlik offers this beer for 23 CZK.
The brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro belongs to the Japanese company Asahi Group Holdings, which owns 17 breweries in Europe, including the Czech Plzeňský Prazdroj.
