Homelessness organisations have warned that more Czech citizens are seeking refuge in homeless shelters as they face financial difficulties linked to the energy crisis. A census commissioned by Labour and Social Ministry found that at least 270,000 people live on the streets, in hostels, shelters or extremely overcrowded apartments.

ANO party Chairman Andrej Babiš is now the favourite in the upcoming Czech presidential election according to a Data Collect and Kantar poll conducted for Czech Television. Mr Babiš polled at 27 percent with retired general Petr Pavel falling into second place with 26.5 percent.
