Here are Some Prague Festivals You Must Visit this Summer

Prague turns into a city of music, theater, and food every summer. We have handpicked a few festivals you cannot miss out on in the next few months.

Praha žije hudbou 

Prague Is Alive With Music is one of the biggest street festivals in Prague. This event shows that culture and music belong in the streets. Last year’s edition attracted a large number of visitors and this year, the organizers want to build on that and create even more busking spots.

Busking refers to any street performance, whether it is a musical, improvisational, or theatrical production. The Prague Is Alive With Music Festival is organized by Nerudný fest, which also organizes other events such as Mladí tuní jazz and Student Fest.

Anyone who wants to showcase their art on the streets can join the festival. Just fill in the questionnaire on the website: prahazijehudbou.cz. You can experience street art on the 23rd and 24th of June in many places in Prague. Stages are in Stalin, Můstek, and Namesti Republiky.

Respect Festival 2023

Respect Festival is not only a traditional music festival, but also a message of tolerance towards different cultures, peoples, and traditions. The event tries to achieve connection with people from all over the world.

One of the main stars of the festival is the African artist Adédèjì. The Dur-Dur Band from Somalia will perform and from India, Rngamatir Baul performs as do the Dutch trio, Meral Polat Trio. The festival also includes various programmes for children and art installations.

The performances will take place on Rohan Island on the 17th and 18th of June. Two-day admission will cost 750 crowns.

Prague Rocks

The Prague Rocks Festival continues on June 21st with more well-known artists from music mainstream. Gwen Stefani and Maroon 5 will be joined by Rag’n’Bone Man, who unfortunately canceled his appearance in Prague last year due to the ongoing COVID epidemic.

The Prague Rock festival is quickly growing to become one of the most important music events in the Czech Republic and even wider area, attracting visitors from around the globe. The festival’s fourth year promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Frontline Festival 2023

Fans of Czech and foreign rap and hip hop will be treated to the best in their field at Frontline Festival. The event will take place at the Exhibition Grounds in Prague Holešovice on the 21st and 22nd of July.

One of the biggest attractions is the British hip-hopper JME, who became famous for his hit Man Don’t Care. He will also be supported on stage by his compatriot, P Money. The domestic scene will be represented by Hugo Toxxx, Nik Tendo, Yzomandias, Annet X, and others. Admission for both days costs CZK 1.490.

Metronome Prague 2023

Metronome is one of the biggest music and art events of the year. This year, in addition to concerts, visitors can enjoy podcasts, discussions, a playground, theater, sports activities, and an Olympic zone.

Also included in the events at this year’s Metronome are slam poetry, an outdoor escape party, an on-site cache hunt, and a screening of PSH – THE ENDLESS STORY. The festival will feature performances by singers Aurora, ZAZ, Jana Kirschner, Pio Squad, PSH, Annet X, and many more. Tickets will cost you 3.590.

Prague Ice Cream Festival

To make sure we don’t just stick to music, Prague Ice Cream Festival is another way to get out and celebrate but with sweet treats. On the 24th and 25th of June, a tasting of various ice creams from all over the world will take place at the Prague Exhibition Centre. Admission starts at 160 crowns.
