Bouzková Triumphs in All-Czech Final to Claim Second Prague Open Title

Marie Bouzková captured her second career WTA title with a hard-fought comeback win over top-seeded Linda Nosková in the final of the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open on Saturday.
The 27-year-old fifth seed rallied to win 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 — lifting the Prague Open trophy for the second time after her maiden title in 2022.
The final, an all-Czech affair, carried both emotional weight and historical significance.
It was the ninth all-Czech final in Hologic WTA Tour history and the first since Kateřina Siniaková defeated Bouzková in Nanchang in 2023. It also marked the third all-Czech final in the history of the Prague tournament, following previous editions in 2015 and 2021.
Nosková got off to a dominant start, taking the first set 6-2 with two key breaks of Bouzková’s serve. But Bouzková quickly turned the match around in the second set, regaining control with sharp baseline play and improved consistency. She held serve to start, broke twice, and raced to a 3-0 lead before closing out the set 6-1.
The deciding set saw momentum shift repeatedly. Bouzková broke in the opening game but Nosková responded with back-to-back breaks to take a brief 3-2 lead. Bouzková then leveled at 3-3 and surged through the next three games, sealing the victory with a final 6-3 set.
The win extends Bouzková’s head-to-head lead over Nosková to 3-1. Currently ranked World No. 47, she is expected to rise in the WTA rankings following this triumph.

For Bouzková, the victory was more than just a title — it was a personal milestone. “It’s been an amazing week. It started with my birthday and ends with this,” she said in her post-match interview.
“It’s so special to have a tournament at home. Holding this trophy means so much — I didn’t know if I could do it again.”
Despite the defeat, Nosková was gracious in her comments: “Congrats to Marie. Great week for you. I’m sure we’ll see each other a lot more — congratulations.”
