4+4 Days in Motion Presents Contemporary Art, Dance Performances, Theater, and Concerts
Sixty contemporary artists, international performance ensembles, concerts, film screenings, workshops, guided tours, and a program and workshops for children – this is the twenty-seventh edition of the 4+4 Days in Motion international festival of contemporary art. This year’s festival is held at Erpet Smíchov, the Archa Theater, and the Savarin Riding School. The festival runs until 16 October. This year’s center of activity is the former Erpet Smíchov sports center and its surroundings, which is the site for much of the festival’s exhibition. Curated by Gabriela Kotiková and Denisa Václavová, the exhibition presents works by artists such as Alena Kotzmannová, Anna Hulačová, Dominik Gajarský, Dominik Lang, Eva Koťátková, Hynek Alt, Jiří Černický, Jiří Thýn, Krištof Kintera, Laďa Gažiová, Markéta Othová, Pavla Sceranková, Josef Bolf, Rafani, Vasil Artamonov, and dozens of others. “This year’s exhibition space is specific in that it is a former sports facility from the 1980s that includes an indoor golf training facility with grass, artificial trees, and so on. We nevertheless decided to work with this somewhat obscure venue, and most of the artists created site-specific pieces with this place in mind. I think that it will be a big surprise for visitors,” explains curator Gabriela Kotiková....
