As of March 2, Prague Castle’s South Gardens are open to the public after its closure during winter. Accessible year-round, the visiting hours of the Royal Garden have been extended and is now open from 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. Further adjustments to the grounds include modifying existing tickets and lowering entrance fees. The Prague Castle Administration (SPH) is hoping to focus on domestic visitors; introducing new tours which visit places inside of the grounds that are typically off-limits for tourists. Although entry to the Prague Castle grounds remains restricted by security checkpoints, visitors to the Royal Garden and Deer’s Moat will be able to circumvent these checkpoints. The Czech Republic’s largest craft beer festival, Pražský Festival Piva 2023, is taking place on March 31st and April 1st at the Prague Tržnice in Holešovice. Over 50 breweries, including 26 international ones from 18 different countries, will be in attendance. Three of these breweries, Cloudwater Brew Co, Siren Craft Brew, and Amager Bryghus, are among the top 100 craft beer breweries according to ratebeer.com. Visitors can expect to try over 150 different types of beer from countries such as England, Belgium, Germany, and others. The festival will be cashless, with all visitors receiving a chip from NFCtron that can be topped up with credit before and during the festival. Advance tickets for single-day or festival tickets can be purchased here. The festival will also feature workshops, lectures, and tastings with brewers from Germany and Belgium, as well as musical performances and a variety of food options to contribute to the overall festive atmosphere.
The former Bohemia restaurant has regained its shine after an extensive reconstruction. It will offer unique facilities for events, cultural and social meetings. The former Bohemia restaurant at the Prague Exhibition Grounds has undergone a complete and very demanding reconstruction with regard to preserving its historical character. The building of the former Pilsen restaurant from 1891 now opens its doors to the public, and it will serve for various purposes such as conferences, exhibitions, fashion shows, chamber music concerts, and other cultural events and social or business meetings. The Bohemia building was originally built as a restaurant for the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891, making it one of the oldest buildings at the Exhibition Grounds. The total budget for the reconstruction works amounted to CZK 87.7 million. The building offers a spacious ground floor hall for social and cultural events, fashion shows, chambre music concerts, vernissages, press conferences, and other events of various focus.
