Cheers! If you are a lover of beer, then today is the perfect holiday for you. Today is the first Friday of August, which means that it’s International Beer Day! According to Wikipedia, International Beer Day was started in 2007 and has 3 purposes: “To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.” “To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.” “To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day” On this International Beer Day, here’s a lowdown on three basic rules to drinking beer: 1. The right serving temperature Each style of beer requires an appropriate temperature to enjoy its best characteristics. As a general rule, higher the alcohol content and intensity of colour of the beer, the higher its serving temperature should be. What needs to be noted here is that at a temperature above 12° C, the beer loses the sensation of freshness, while below 0° C, the beer becomes tasteless. But in general, between 4-6° C is best suited. 2. The rule for pouring Not many people know that it is the barm/ foam (cream) on the top of the glass that protects the beer...

When you don’t want to go home from work, the next best option is to have a beer with some friends. We have written a list of the coolest spots to try because, as it often is, the largest and most famous gardens are not always the best choice. Everyone knows Letná or Riegrovy Sady beer gardens, and upon a couple of visits, those get a bit boring. Plus, there is nothing more exciting than discovering new favorite places in the capital. U Sadu The legendary pub, known for its menu full of quite unhealthy but tasty options, is located on the border of Vinohrady and Žižkov. But above all, it is famous for offering an infinite number of beer types. We recommend testing their hand-made Sádek beer from the brewery of the same name. Where: Škroupovo nám. 1282/5, 130 00 Prague 3 – Žižkov Pod Lipami On one of the most beautiful streets in Prague, there is a small unnoticeable cafe – Pod Lipami. It’s hidden behind low bushes but has a spacious and pleasant garden. The place operates more like a cafe or a bistro, but we definitely recommend it for nice beer options as well. Where: Čechova...

“Dinner in the Sky” is an amazing dining experience combined with an exclusive environment, spectacular views, cuisine from renowned chefs, and all of this at up to 50 meters above the earth. A crane lifts the table with 22 guests to a height of up to 50 meters above the earth. When this event first began in the Czech Republic ten years ago, many conventional gourmets were quite skeptical, suggesting that they don’t need to be hung somewhere in the air to enjoy delightful cuisine. Dinner in the Sky first started when Belgian entrepreneurs David Ghysels and Stefan Kerkhofs devised this concept. It quickly expanded to many major cities across the world, including Prague, where it has been celebrated every September. In its initial stages, Dinner in the Sky was set up in Kampa, before the crane and platform were relocated to Riegrovy sady. This year, it is returning to the historic center along Dvorák’s embankment where a team of professionals, with a guest chef and waiting team, will serve from the center of the table. The menu features pumpkin soup with red curry and coconut milk, beef cheeks, mashed potatoes, and Japanese wasabi horseradish as the main course, vanilla crème brûlée with raspberry sorbet and pistachios...

“An extension of Prague’s public transport” – this is how representatives of Nextbike, the largest domestic bike-sharing company, talk about their upcoming project with the city administration. According to them, Prague could become the first Czech city in which public transport tickets will include bike-sharing. According to Tomáš Karpov, the director of operations at Nextbike, every holder of Lítačka could simply unlock a bike to get to a destination faster and for free. “Right now, we are in the negotiation process with the Prague city company Operátor ICT and the city’s PID. We are discussing whether the idea is technically feasible at all. But if it worked out, it would be great for Praguers. I would like to point out that the Lítačka could then be used to unlock bikes from even our company’s competitors,” explains Karpov. “Nextbike already operates in 23 cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague. Furthermore, we rely on support from city administrations in nineteen of them. It is a question of how something similar would work in Prague,” said Adam Scheinherr, Deputy Mayor for Transport. Tábor, a town in South Bohemia, serves as an example of how functional and useful such a system can be....

We had to react, look for new solutions. Look around the corner and try new techniques. But we learned a lot along the way and remembered the basic unchanging values,” states the official website. “To be resilient, we must take care of ourselves, our friendships, our families, society, culture and landscape. A healthier environment and mental well-being will help our physical health. We need a new plan. Considerate, friendly, sustainable for our planet, society and the environment. A plan that can react to adverse circumstances...
