From Montreal to Letná: Cirque du Soleil Brings KURIOS to Prague
Prague Morning
For the first time in the Czech Republic, Prague will host KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, a production by Cirque du Soleil that has captivated audiences across the world.
The show opens September 3, 2025, and will run until October 12 under a massive big top on Letenská pláň.
On August 27, construction crews began raising the enormous marquee at Letná.
The tent, standing 19 meters high and 50 meters in diameter, will seat about 2,500 spectators.
More than a hundred workers handled the installation, securing the structure with over 1,200 support poles.
The site has been transformed into a complete circus village, including an entrance and art tent, backstage facilities, warehouses, offices, and a kitchen for performers and crew.
Assembly takes a week, while dismantling after the run will take three days.
KURIOS is one of Cirque du Soleil’s most celebrated productions, combining acrobatics, surreal imagery, art, and humor.
Since its premiere in Montreal in 2014, the show has been performed more than 3,000 times in 35 cities, drawing over six million spectators.
Set in a steampunk-inspired universe, the story follows an inventor who opens a mysterious cabinet where the boundaries of reality blur and time shifts unexpectedly.
Each act expands on this imaginative world, showcasing the technical brilliance and artistry that have defined Cirque du Soleil for decades.
Ticket sales began months ago, with strong early demand ensuring that the troupe will remain in Prague through mid-October.
