More Services to Open on May 10. Restaurants Terraces on May 17?

Today, a handful of smaller stores will be allowed to open, including hairdressers, beauty salons will be allowed to open.

Both employees and clients must have negative antigen tests for Covid-19, no older than 3 days, or 7 days in case of PCR tests, and salons are spacing out bookings so that clients do not meet.

Galleries and museums have also opened in the seven districts which have under 100 new cases per 1,000 inhabitants.

From May 10, the following shops and services will be able to reopen:

• Tattoo and piercing studios, solarium;
• Shoe, watch, musical instrument repair shops;
• Accountants, financial and all other consultants;
• Car markets and car dealerships;
• Educational courses;
• Cable cars and lifts;
• Translation agency;
• Travel agencies, including organizers of excursions;
• Photo workshops, printing and publishing houses;
• Various craft services (glass, locksmith, carpentry and other workshops);
• Services related to physical education and sports.

Still, there are no gyms in the list published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Their opening involves the fourth phase of the plan. In the best case, they should be able to open in two weeks, but in a very limited mode.

The number of daily infections continues to decline rapidly and this week, vaccine registration should be opened to everyone over the age of 50.

Still, the loosening has come to late for at least 10% of stores, according to the president of the Union of Trade and Tourism Tomáš Prouza. He warned on a Prima television news program that up to 25% of stores could end up folding if consumers don’t start spending quickly. He said each week stores remain closed make it less likely they’ll be able to sell of their winter collections even at discount prices.
