This Sunday will take place the Prague International Marathon 2024, attracting more than eight thousand runners.The marathon will kick off at 9 am from the Old Town Square, and will predominantly cover areas around the Vltava within Prague 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8. From 8 am to 4 pm, streets and intersections along the race course will gradually be closed and opened.
* ECONOMY:
While the OECD has upgraded the global economic growth forecast for this year to 3.1%, Czechia is expected to experience the slowest growth among the Visegrad Group countries, with its GDP projected to grow by only 1.1% this year and 2.4% next year.
* WEATHER:
Friday is expected to be overcast with a high probability of rain. Daytime temperatures should range between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius.
* ENVIRONMENT:
Türkiye on Thursday signed a declaration of intent on environmental protection cooperation with the Czech Republic.”We will share our experiences in combating climate change and cooperate in our environmental projects with the sensitivity we have in line with our 2053 net zero emission and green development goals set by our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” the Turkish minister added.
* ECONOMY:
The Czech Republic’s central bank on Thursday cut its key interest rate for the fourth straight time as inflation dropped and the economy showed signs of recovery. The cut by a half-percentage point brought the interest rate down to 5.25%. The move was expected by analysts.
