* ENVIRONEMNT:

Prague City Council has allocated 42 million Czech crowns to support environmental projects throughout the city. The funding will be divided amongst 145 projects focused on areas like public green spaces, the circular economy, nature conservation, environmental education programs for schools, and climate change adaptation strategies.

* EVENTS

Argentine President-elect Javier Milei has confirmed his attendance in Prague to accept the Annual Prize from the Liberal Institute and the Anglo-American University. Scheduled for June 18th, Milei’s visit to the Czech Republic marks a significant recognition by the Institute.

* WEATHER:

Tuesday is predicted to be grey and wet, with rainfall expected especially in the morning and early afternoon. Daytime temperatures should range between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius.

* PRAGUE:

The city district of Prague 1 is making a fresh attempt to restrict night-time vehicle access to part of the Old Town. An ordinance proposal has been put up on the city district’s official board, aiming to quieten the area around Dlouhá, Revoluční, and Dvořákovo nábřeží streets between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

* TRAVEL:

Czechs defied economic challenges by taking a record number of flights in 2023. Over 2.5 million air trips were logged, surpassing pre-pandemic levels of around 2 million. This surge in air travel comes despite high inflation. People embarked on 2,464 air trips for stays lasting more than four nights last year, a ten percent increase from the previous year.
