New Exhibition Run by Expat Artists to Open in Prague

The expat artist collective FRUIT JUICE COLLECTIVE are excited to announce their upcoming exhibition WTF Is Going On, featuring ten brand new paintings from members Vinny Bonger, Big Kill and Kilo Blimp.

The exhibition opens May 12 at the recently rebranded Bistro Tri in Vinohrady, and will be celebrated with an opening event from 18:00 – 22:00.

FRUIT JUICE COLLECTIVE was formed in 2022 by three expat artists with a mission to make art more accessible and to establish a more vibrant community for creative people living in Prague. They collaborate frequently with local businesses like Bistro Tri, Version Coffee and more to host events.

WTF Is Going On will be their sixth exhibition, and their third at Bistro Tri. During their first year of meeting, they held five exhibitions, and painted two murals both in Breda Shopping Centre, Opava, and Young Dust Vintage Store in Prague.

Now, they have (4) exhibitions lined up until the end of 2023 , including at Skautsky Institut in early June where they will be donating a painting to raise money for Czech women’s charity, Jako Doma.

Following that they have two murals commissioned by PRE and the Prague 3 Municipality on two huge spaces (4x6M + 5X8M respectively) to promote Viktoria Zizkov at their local stadium. And just three weeks ago they were featured on Cesky Rozhlas.

“We like the idea of trying to bring people together around art. And now we’re building a community of people who know there’s going to be an event every few months that supports a local business like Bistro Tri, features new paintings from the three of us, and live music from Big Kill,” says Kilo Blimp.

“We believe art shouldn’t be exclusive and a pay-to-play event – we like to be where people are and make art a part of everyday life, lighting up (and cheering up) our communities, as it should be. This also leans into our pricing model – where we keep it as fair as possible to benefit both the art-lover and the artist. No inflated costs to cover gallery fees, and no ego,” said Vinny Bonger.

The opening event for WTF Is Going On promises to be a night to remember with live music from Big Kill and a showcase of stunning new paintings from FRUIT JUICE COLLECTIVE.

The exhibition will be open from May 12th until September 15th, 2023.
