300,000 visitors will come to Prague this long Easter weekend, national tourism office expects.
Some hotels claim to be almost sold out for Easter holidays. These include the hotel chain OREA Hotels & Resorts. “Most tourists arrive from Germany, with a 12% overnight stays more than last year,” says Gorjan Lazarov, director of OREA Hotels & Resorts. For them, their neighbor the Czech Republic is a popular destination, particularly for short holidays, according to the tourism office.
More and more Czechs go to Prague on Easter. “We have a record increase in the Czech clientele, with 205% overnight stays more on Easter holidays,” adds Lazarov.
Prague came in seventh among the top 25 destinations in the world on the TripAdvisor rankings for 2018. The top spot this year went to Paris, followed by London, Rome, Bali, Crete and Barcelona.
Prague came ahead of Marrakech, Istanbul and New York, which rounded out the top ten.
