Prague to Mark 150 Years of Public Transport with Grand Tram Parade
Prague Morning
Prague will celebrate 150 years of public transit on Sunday, September 21, 2025, with a festive tram parade.
Organized by the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP), the event will feature 40 trams covering a 12-kilometer route through the city.
The celebration will open with a display of all participating trams on Sokolovská Street, between the Křižíkova and Urxova stops, starting at 9:30 a.m.
Historic vehicles and classic models will line up alongside the newest 52T tram, offering a clear look at the evolution of Prague’s public transport.
At the forefront of the parade, departing at 11:00 a.m., will be a horse-drawn carriage—just as trams were in the mid-19th century—creating a striking contrast with the state-of-the-art 52T.
Short speeches will be given around 10:45 a.m. before the trams begin their journey.
Spectators are encouraged to watch the parade along the route. For easy access, take the metro—Line B to Křižíkova or Invalidovna for the exhibition, or Line A to Staroměstská or Malostranská for the prime photography vantage point at Mánes Bridge (“Mánesův most”).
A limited number of special tickets for riding in select trams will be available for purchase. Details and pre-sale dates will be announced soon via fanshop.dpp.cz
