On Wednesday early morning, a large Ukrainian aircraft An-124 Ruslan landed at Pardubice Airport, bringing additional tons of medical supplies from China for the management of the coronavirus epidemic.

As soon as the plane landed, health officers wearing protective gear approached the aircraft and sprayed the plane and each crew member with disinfectant.

Protective equipment including disposable masks, N95 masks, goggles, gloves, shoe protectors, infrared thermometers and other medical equipment was immediately transported to central warehouses.

Last Saturday, the first Ukrainian aircraft An-124 Ruslan brought five million masks, two million respirators, 120,000 protective suits, 80,000 protective goggles, and tens of thousands of coronavirus tests from Shenzhen, China.

A load with 250,000 respirators by Vietnamese Bamboo Airways will also arrive from Hanoi on Wednesday.

The Czech Republic last week was facing a serious shortage of facemasks, respirators and certain medical equipment seen as essential in handling the epidemic.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Czech Republic reached 1394 on Tuesday.
