The suspension bridge in Dolní Morava appeared among the best places in the world in 2022 according to Time Magazine. A photo of the bridge was also on the cover of the magazine.
The fifty-spot list also includes, for example, the Arctic and the International Space Station (ISS). Across the list, Europe took home the most awards.
Most of the world is waking up after more than two years of the covid-19 pandemic, and travelers are hitting the road again. The American magazine, therefore, compiled a list of the most interesting places worth visiting this year.
The Czech representative is presented with the headline “Unique Views” and according to the magazine it is a new architectural wonder in the Czech Republic.
Sky Bridge 721, as the 721-meter-long bridge in the Jeseníky foothills is called, was opened this May after two years of construction. It is suspended more than 95 meters above the ground and offers panoramic views of Mlýnský potok and the vast valley shrouded in clouds.
The walkway is almost four meters wide and the height of the bridge ranges from 1110 to 1116 meters.
The attraction holds the Guinness World Record for the longest pedestrian suspension bridge. It surpassed the previous record holder, the Baglung Parbat Bridge in Nepal’s Gandaki Province, by 154 meters.
Not only well-known places like the Great Barrier Reef, but also less touristy destinations like Greenland’s third largest city, Ilulissat, appear on Time magazine’s list of the 50 best places to visit.
The list mixes natural gems with ultra-modern cities, such as the South Korean capital Seoul.
Many of these destinations are making their way to economic recovery. This year, for example, the resort on the Philippine island of Boracay, which was closed for many years due to excessive tourism and subsequently due to the covid-19 pandemic, will reopen.
Others have thrived in the long term, growing and changing, such as the beach city of Miami, which combines the beautiful beachfront with charming architecture and incredible food.
