Voices of Prague to Bring Broadway Hits to Prague's Old Town on June 20
Prague Morning
Fans of Broadway musicals, film soundtracks and contemporary choral music will have the chance to experience a different take on some of the world’s best-known songs later this month, when the Voices of Prague International Choir returns with its latest production.
The ensemble’s fourth standalone concert, Broadway Lights: A Night of Musicals with Voices of Prague, is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Prague’s historic Evangelical Church U Salvátora in the Old Town.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
Made up of around 40 singers representing more than 20 countries, Voices of Prague has become one of the city’s most international musical communities. Bringing together people from different backgrounds who now call Prague home, the choir uses music to bridge cultures, languages and personal stories.
Under the direction of conductor Brian Dimech, the group will perform a cappella arrangements of songs drawn from Broadway productions, acclaimed films and internationally recognised pop classics. Without the use of instruments, the focus shifts entirely to the expressive possibilities of the human voice.
Audiences can expect familiar melodies from some of the most celebrated productions of recent decades. The programme includes “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, “Another Day of Sun” from the Oscar-winning musical La La Land, and “Always Remember Us This Way” from A Star Is Born.
Selections from the global stage phenomenon Wicked will also feature in the evening’s repertoire, alongside “Aquarius / Let the Sunshine In” from the musical Hair. The choir will additionally perform Queen’s enduring anthem “Somebody to Love”, before closing the concert with the energetic “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray.
“Our goal is to present well-known melodies in a way audiences do not usually hear them,” conductor Brian Dimech said. “Without instrumental accompaniment, harmony, emotion and the energy of the human voice come to the forefront. It can be just as powerful as a full orchestra.”
All pieces will be performed in English. Organisers say the programme is intended for audiences of all ages, from families with children to dedicated fans of musicals and film music.
