RegioJet Announces Ticket Prices for the New Train From Prague to Rijeka

On Tuesday, June 9, the Czech carrier RegioJet will start selling the tickets for the new long-distance train from Prague to Rijeka, Croatia.

Tickets cost from 590 to 790 CZK for a one-way trip.

The train is to be in operation until mid-September, and buses from Rijeka would follow the arrival of the train, which would transport Czech tourists to individual resorts on the Adriatic coast.

“The interest is already huge. Every day we get hundreds of calls, both from ordinary costumers and travel agencies. RegioJet in all its directions has already proved that tickets can be inexpensive. We will apply a similar policy on the new route,” said Aleš Ondrůj, RegioJet spokesman.

The train will leave Prague at 17:20, and arrive in Rijeka at 08:00, with two stops in Pardubice and Brno.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many Czech nationals will be spending summer vacation in their homeland, but they still consider Croatia an attractive tourist destination due to a relatively low number of those infected with COVID 19.

The Czech Republic is planning to ease travel between the central European country and other countries, including Croatia, deemed safe from risks of coronavirus from June 8, Health Minister Adam Vojtech said in May.

Since the end of May, Croatia has fully opened its borders to citizens of ten EU countries, including the Czech Republic. Croatia made it possible for foreign tourists to arrive unofficially at the beginning of May on the basis of proving “economic interests” or booking a stay, this is no longer necessary for selected countries.

To speed up the entry procedure, visitors are advised to fill in the electronic registration in advance.
