Breaking Bread: QQ Asian Kitchen Continues to Impress

QQ Asian Kitchen, after opening its doors in 2017, very quickly became one of the most talked-about restaurants in the city. The cuisine – a mixture of food from Bali and Taiwan with several other culinary stops along the way – was not something readily available in Prague. QQ Asian Kitchen became almost immediately successful. The food was excellent and the seats were full. That has not changed. The level of quality at QQ Asian Kitchen remains top-notch. QQ Asian Kitchen’s location, however, did change in the spring of 2020 and is now attached to Mosaic House Design Hotel. A location change for a restaurant with an already fixed reputation could be a risky endeavor, but everything is contingent on the quality of food and service. That, as stated, remains the same. The supermarket chain Coop will open what it is calling the “Supermarket of the Future” in Strakonice, South Bohemia. The store is built around the ideals of innovation and transparency, officials said, and merging physical and digital by augmenting a traditional food market with interactive displays and smart shelves designed to make shopping more relevant and personalized. Display screens that overhang products provide information about an item — including its origins, nutritional facts, the presence of allergens, waste disposal instructions, correlated products and promotions — triggered by customer gestures. Customers can go groceries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At the exit, instead of a checkout register and cashier, there are simply automated gates that open when you pay with a credit card. Quick commerce startup Grovy has finalized a €3 million financing round led by Lighthouse Ventures. The funds will be used for further expansion across Central and Eastern Europe, with offices already running in Prague and Bucharest. The startup has already established traction in the crowded German market by focusing on customer service, a positive and fair work culture, and sustainability. The rise of same-day (and same-hour) grocery delivery in Europe has been rapid and not without teething problems.
