Prague Metro to Have LTE Coverage By End of 2019

Prague City Transport (DPP) has announced that works are now being finalized to provide a section of the Prague underground network by LTE, reported Mobilenet.cz. Complete coverage of the whole metro, including tunnels, is planned by the end of 2019. This autumn, DPP will implement a Wi-Fi network in one of the busiest stations, too.  The mobile signal coverage in the Prague metro is currently poor, at the 2G standard and only in the majority of metro stations. In April, DPP agreed with a consortium of operators to provide LTE reception.  Construction works and cable installation will be performed in phases and during night hours when the metro is closed to the public (1:00 to 3:00 a.m.). The total distance between the four new stations where the cable will be installed in both directions is 11.6 km. The costs of covering the metro stations and the tunnels amount to CZK 12 million and CZK 18 million, respectively.  Author: red xosotin chelseathông tin chuyển nhượngcâu lạc bộ bóng đá arsenalbóng đá atalantabundesligacầu thủ haalandUEFAevertonfutebol ao vivofutemaxmulticanaisonbetbóng đá world cupbóng đá inter milantin juventusbenzemala ligaclb leicester cityMUman citymessi lionelsalahnapolineymarpsgronaldoserie atottenhamvalenciaAS ROMALeverkusenac milanmbappenapolinewcastleaston villaliverpoolfa cupreal madridpremier leagueAjaxbao bong da247EPLbarcelonabournemouthaff cupasean footballbên lề sân cỏbáo bóng...

Czech Republic Holds Biggest Anti-Terrorist Exercise

The Czech Republic held on Tuesday its largest ever anti-terrorist exercise in the Congress Centre, with the participation of police rapid reaction unit, firefighters and rescuers. The operation, entitled DEMON 2018, simulated 40 armed people taking around 2,000 audience members at a musical show hostage and killing five of them. The gunmen demanded their fellows be released from prison, otherwise they refuse to negotiate with the police. Czech rapid reaction unit launched a raid with the aim to set the hostages free around 10:00 in the morning, and helicopters circled around the building. The Congress Centre and its nearby surroundings were closed roughly until 13:00. The preparation of the training lasted for half a year.  Interior Minister Jan Hamacek (CSSD) observed the drill, and the police borrowed a helicopter from the army for the purpose. Opencard Ends, Lítačka Expands

Prague is definitely shutting down the scandal-plagued Opencard. Passengers using the red card will lose the opportunity to record coupons for public transport from November. The alternative transit card Lítačka card was launched in March 2016, and both systems have been running side by side. Lítačka will expand with a new website and a new app as Opencard shuts down. People who have bought a transit coupon on Opencard can continue to use it until the coupon expires. As of Sept. 1, anybody using an Opencard can transfer to Lítačka free of charge. Some 240,000 Opencards are still in use, according to City Hall. Lítačka is used by about a half million people. Prague has a population of 1.26 million, counting children who ride for free. Central Bohemia has 1.3 million. Vítězné náměstí to be Redesigned?

Istanbul-based studio Superspace has proposed a design for Vítězné náměstí (Prague 6) that transforms the zone into a space flourishing with nature and social activities. The simple but effective solution inverts traffic and pedestrian access to create a green urban center, where markets, art festivals and even wintertime ice-skating can take place. Tall, local evergreen trees would be planted in the horseshoe shape surrounding the inner ring, creating an iconic visual impact while shielding the community space from the noise of the busy traffic area beyond. The current design of Vítězné náměstí encourages heavy traffic congestion and its central green space is inaccessible and redundant. Superspace’s proposal increases the permeability of the space, as well as creates a holistic central urban space surrounded by easily accessible traffic lanes.   The form of the ring derives from the transition between the horseshoe plan and the existing central roundabout. It creates an intimate community space nestled within the trees, an oasis within the city.
