Prague-Bubny Station Opens Rooftop Deck for Visitors

A new rooftop terrace at Prague-Bubny station has opened, offering city views to anyone passing through the area. The Railway Administration opened an observation terrace this week, giving passengers and residents the chance to look out over the surrounding district. The deck is accessible from Monday to Saturday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Entry is from the first platform, where stairs lead directly to the roof. From there, a modest terrace offers space for visitors to pause and take in the view. Although the station has been in trial operation for a month, construction continues. For that reason, a staff member from the Railway Administration is present to oversee safety on the terrace. “We have set up all the necessary conditions to ensure safe entry,” said spokesperson Nela Friebová. Prague March to Pay Tribute to Children Killed in Palestine and Israel

On Thursday, September 4, at 4 p.m., Prague will host a silent procession titled Light for Lost Childhood, meant to honor children affected by conflict in both Palestine and Israel. The movement is spearheaded by Tamara and Tomáš Klus, who have enlisted voices across faith and civic spheres. Led by Tomáš Halík, noted Catholic priest and scholar, alongside Mikuláš Vymětal of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, the initiative brings together church leaders, civil society, and human rights advocacy groups. September 20: Sewer Under Prague’s Old Town Hall Opens for Visitors

For the first time in years, Prague residents and visitors will be able to step into one of the capital’s most unusual underground spaces. On Saturday, September 20, Pražské vodovody a kanalizace (Prague Waterworks and Sewers) will open the so-called Cizinecký vstup beneath the Old Town Hall, a hidden chamber where the city’s main sewer line begins. The chamber lies directly under Old Town Square, only steps away from the Astronomical Clock. Few realize that beneath their feet runs Sewer A, one of Prague’s most important underground arteries, stretching more than three kilometers and channeling wastewater from central districts toward the treatment plant in Bubeneč. Guided tours will run throughout the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. Each visit will last about twenty minutes. The meeting point is at the door to the right of the Astronomical Clock. Entry is free of charge, but advance registration is required at www.pvk.cz. Prost, Prague! Oktoberfest Returns with Bavarian Beer, Food and Music

Prague will once again bring the spirit of Munich’s Oktoberfest to the Czech capital! From Wednesday, September 16, to Saturday, September 20, Permanent Pragovka will be transformed into a Bavarian-style beer garden, offering visitors a taste of Germany’s most iconic festival. The four-day event, now entering its fourth edition, promises everything that makes Oktoberfest so beloved: freshly tapped Bavarian beers, food, music, dancing, and of course, plenty of singing. Visitors can expect six Bavarian classics on tap, including Hofbräu Dunkel, Paulaner, and Löwenbräu, alongside a selection of special Festbiers brewed exclusively for Oktoberfest by Munich breweries. Among the highlights will be a beer from Weihenstephaner, the world’s oldest brewery, which has been operating since 1040. Independent Film Festival Returns to Prague with Global Lineup

The Prague Independent Film Festival (PIFF) will return this September, bringing international filmmakers and audiences together for three days of screenings, discussions, and presentations. Founded in 2016, the festival highlights independent productions from around the world with a focus on original storytelling and diverse perspectives. Florence + The Machine to Bring Their First Prague Concert to O2 Arena

Florence + The Machine will perform in Prague for the first time next year, with a concert scheduled at the O2 Arena on March 5, 2026. The Ukrainian Flag Has Been Taken Down at Prague’s National Museum

The Ukrainian flag, which had been flying on the facade of Prague’s National Museum since the Russian invasion in 2022, has been taken down. In its place now hangs a banner promoting an exhibition of the Ethiopian fossils Lucy and Selam, lent to the Czech Republic for the first time. Museum officials confirmed that the decision was tied to promoting the exhibition, not to political pressure. “The National Museum is currently the only institution in Europe displaying the original fossils of human ancestors Lucy and Selam. National Theatre Launches New Season with Free All-Day Open-Air Event

The National Theatre will celebrate the launch of its 2025/26 season with an expansive, free event on Monday, 1 September 2025, from 14:00 to 22:00, taking place outdoors on Střelecký Island in Prague. The National Open Air festival brings together every artistic ensemble of the National Theatre. Attendees of all ages can enjoy dance and vocal performances, creative workshops, a zone for children, and opportunities for meet-and-greets with actors, dancers, and creators. Prague City Confirms Two New Tram Lines for 2026

Prague is preparing to expand its tram network with two new lines that will link growing neighborhoods to the city’s transport hubs. One will connect Libuš with the planned Metro D station Nové Dvory, while the other will serve Žižkov and end at Jarov. The Prague City Transport Company (DPP) confirmed the contracts for both projects earlier this month. A new link between Libuš and Nové Dvory The southern part of the city will see a 1.8-kilometer extension running along Novodvorská Street. The line will end at a new loop around Novodvorská and Durychova Streets, where the Nové Dvory stop is planned. Two additional stops—Chýnovská and Přírodní—will replace the current bus connections, ensuring smoother transfers to the future Metro D. Oasis in Prague? Online Tour Schedule Sparks Fan Speculation

From Montreal to Letná: Cirque du Soleil Brings KURIOS to Prague

For the first time in the Czech Republic, Prague will host KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, a production by Cirque du Soleil that has captivated audiences across the world. Prague 1 Bans E-Scooters From Nerudova Street After Accidents

Prague 1 has introduced a new measure to improve safety in one of its busiest tourist zones. Electric scooters are now banned from Nerudova Street, the road connecting Malostranské náměstí with Prague Castle, after repeated accidents involving riders and pedestrians. The district installed new traffic signs at both ends of the street, formally prohibiting scooters from entering.
