President Pavel visits Estonia, will discuss security and cyber defence

Czech President Petr Pavel is on a two-day state visit to Estonia. During the meeting with his Estonian counterpart Alar Karis, they are expected to discuss the security situation in Europe, especially with regard to Russia. The president will also speak in Tallinn at a conference organised by NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence and at a business forum.

Macinka would like to complete embassy move to Jerusalem

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka (Motorists) said he would like to complete the relocation of the Czech embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by the end of his term in office. He told journalists this after a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar at Prague’s Černín Palace.

Roland Garros: Kopřiva, Siniaková advance to second round

Czech players Vít Kopřiva and Kateřina Siniaková reached the second round of the French Open, while 12th seed Linda Nosková was eliminated. Kopřiva beat Corentin Moutet 6–3, 5–7, 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 and will face Martín Landaluce next, while Siniaková defeated Simona Waltert 6–4, 7–6 and meets Victoria Mboko in round two.
