Czechia will keep fighting for release of journalist Alsu Kurmasheva
A nighttime traffic ban is now in effect in part of Prague’s Old Town starting Wednesday evening at 10 PM. This ban, which lasts until 6 AM, restricts access to all vehicles except residents, taxis, and emergency services. The signs replaced the older ones in Pařížská, Revoluční, Dvořákovo nábřeží, and Dlouhá streets.

Crown jewels to be exhibited every year
President Petr Pavel has decided to display the Bohemian crown jewels every year on the occasion of Czech Statehood Day, which is celebrated on the Day of St Wenceslas, the nation’s patron saint, and falls on September 28. This year, the jewels will be exhibited from 17 to 30 September.

EU Debt Rises to 82 Percent of GDP, Increases in Czech Republic.
According to Eurostat, the European Union’s debt stopped decreasing in the first quarter of this year, rising to 82 per cent of GDP from 81.5 per cent at the end of last year. The most significant increase was observed in Slovakia, but debt is also increasing in the Czech Republic, where national debt has reached a new record.
