Chinese carmakers expand in Czechia through Bolt
Chinese automakers BYD and Chery are expanding in Czechia through Bolt, which has negotiated special prices for electric and hybrid cars for its drivers. Discounts vary by model and are not public. Cars bought through the program must be used by Bolt for at least one year and receive branded wraps.

Ukrainians must renew temporary protection
The Czech Interior Ministry has reminded Ukrainians applying for special long-term residence that they must still extend their temporary protection and obtain a new visa sticker valid until March 31, 2027. Applicants must maintain continuous legal residence. Those who fail to get the new sticker by September 30, 2026, will lose temporary protection.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
