Czech government to announce measures against high fuel prices

The Czech government has prepared measures to tackle sharply rising fuel prices and will announce them after Monday’s cabinet meeting, Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlíček (ANO) said on Sunday. He did not specify what steps the government would take. Fuel prices have risen amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East and limited refinery capacity.

Czech tourist dies in boat accident in Norway

One Czech citizen has died and three others are missing after a boating accident off the western coast of Norway. The Czech Foreign Ministry said Norwegian police do not expect to find any survivors. The four Czech tourists had rented a fishing boat on Friday near the island of Averöya, close to Kristiansund, and planned to return before dark.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs

Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
