Babiš says government could reintroduce fuel price caps
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has not ruled out reintroducing caps on fuel station margins in response to rising fuel prices. He said the government does not want to cut excise duties again, but will examine refinery margins, which he considers excessive. Fuel prices in Czechia have risen in recent weeks, with the average price of diesel approaching 46 crowns per litre and Natural 95 petrol topping 42 crowns.

Czech aristocrat Filip Sternberg dies at 69
Filip Sternberg, owner of Český Šternberk Castle in the Benešov region and a descendant of the prominent Sternberg noble family, died in Vienna on Saturday at the age of 69 following a serious illness. Sternberg was born in Prague on October 29, 1956, the only son of Zdeněk Sternberg and his wife Alžběta.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
