Czech army fills nearly two thirds of annual recruitment target

The Czech Army has already filled nearly two thirds of its recruitment target for this year in the first quarter. It plans to recruit 2,250 new soldiers in 2026 and has so far reached 65.5 percent of that goal, up from 49 percent two weeks ago.

Jágr says return to professional hockey unlikely

Czech hockey legend Jaromír Jágr says he has not officially ended his playing career, but a return to professional hockey now seems unlikely. In an interview for the NHL website, the 54-year-old said the demands of training and preparation no longer make sense if he only plays a few minutes per game. Jágr last appeared in a competitive match for Kladno on December 21 last year in an Extraliga game against Liberec.
