Abortions in Czechia Drop to Historic Lows
According to data from early this year, the number of abortions in the Czech Republic has dropped to around 15,000 annually—7.5 times lower than in the late 1980s. Most women undergoing the procedure already have children.

Russian Authorities List RFE/RL Journalist as ‘Foreign Agent’
The Russian Ministry of Justice has added Ivan Tolstoy, a journalist with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty based in Prague, to its “foreign agent” registry. Authorities claim he spread false information about government policies and contributed to content produced by foreign agents. Tolstoy is also known as a scholar of Russian emigration and literature, and a descendant of writer Alexei Tolstoy.
