Health Ministry wants all major operations performed at specialist centres by 2030

Specialist centres already perform three quarters of the roughly 17,000 most complex operations carried out in the Czech Republic each year, most of them cancer surgeries. The Health Ministry wants to move all such procedures to specialist centres by 2030, including the roughly 4,000 operations that are still performed elsewhere.

Menšík and Muchová reach US Open mixed doubles semifinals

Jakub Menšík and Karolína Muchová reached the US Open mixed doubles semifinals on Tuesday after beating Marcelo Arévalo and Kristina Mladenovic 4-1, 2-4, 10-7 in the first round and then defeating home pair Tommy Paul and Emma Navarro 4-1, 5-3.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs

Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
