Czech government decides to suspend flights to and from Italy (Milan, Venice, and Bologna) and South Korea amid coronavirus outbreak (2019-nCoV).
The airport will start thermal screening for passengers arriving from Italy, in addition to isolating those with the disease symptoms.

Their idea refers directly to the famous Tatra 815 GTC expedition, which took place in the second half of the 80s in the 20th century. In 1987, as part of the “Tatra kolem světa” project, a crew of five people drove in a special Tatra 815 GTC truck for 200,000 km in just three years. The participants of that expedition visited 67 countries and travelled across five continents. Ryanair claims to have launched ‘rescue fares’ on seven routes to accommodate passengers hit by Wizz Air’s decision to suspend all routes to and from Odesa until June and the cancellation of its flights from London Luton to Prague and Oslo in May. Its cheapest flights from London to Prague start at 655 CZK, although these operate from Stansted, not Luton. The “rescue fares” are on sale now until midnight Sunday (16 Feb), only on the Ryanair.com website. The Czech government announced the ban on direct flights between the Czech Republic and China due to the new coronavirus outbreak on February 3rd. The last flight from China arrived at Prague’s airport on Saturday, bringing a number of Czechs who opted to leave the country due to the coronavirus outbreak. Prague has 12 flight connections a week with China, operated by three Chinese airlines. Hainan Airlines has been operating in Beijing since 2015, a year later Sichuan Airlines began flying to Chengdu, and in 2017 China Eastern Airlines launched a flight to Shanghai, with a stopover in Xi’an. The flu-like virus has been declared a global emergency and spread from China’s Wuhan province to more than two dozen other countries and regions, with the first death outside of China reported on Sunday. The coronavirus death toll on mainland China reaches 722. On Monday, China’s health ministry said another 3,062 cases were reported over the previous 24 hours, while Johns Hopkins reported a total of 40,510 cases globally. Vietnamese airline Bamboo Airways started selling tickets from Prague to Hanoi. The carrier will deploy the Boeing 787-9 twice a week from 29 March. The airline will fly on Sunday and Wednesday. From Prague, the plane will fly at 18:05 and land in Hanoi at 9:35 local time after 10 hours and 30 minutes of flight. The flight back from Hanoi leaves at 9:20, and will land in Prague at 4 pm after 11 hours and 40 minutes. The lowest fares are around 16,000 CZK, but Bamboo does not yet offer the Bamboo Eco class in the reservation system. This is usually the cheapest fare and applies to passengers without cabin baggage. SCAT Airlines has announced that within the next summer season, it is planning to increase the number of regular flights on the Prague – Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) route. Starting from 5 June 2020, the carrier will provide service to the capital of Kazakhstan three times a week with the new frequency every Friday. The airline will operate the route launched in June 2019 by Boeing 737-700 in a configuration for 149 passengers. Based on Prague Airport’s estimates, the new frequency could be used by more than 7,500 passengers traveling in both directions over the season. This route also allows passengers to easily transfer to connecting flights to other destinations in Kazakhstan, such as Almaty, Shymkent, Taraz, Oskemen, and Pavlodar. This allows Apple Maps users to track their current location on the airport map, and they can easily find check-in counters, security checkpoints, shops or restaurants. The leisure airline SunExpress, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has announced a new weekly connection from Prague to Izmir in Turkey for the next summer season, starting on May 30, 2020. SunExpress has already been offering service to Antalya from Prague since last June and will increase its frequency on this route to three weekly flights next year following growth in passenger demand. “We are glad that the number of regular direct flights from Prague Airport to several holiday destinations will increase in the next summer season.
