Australians have been battling devastating wildfires since September of last year. More than 13 million acres have burned across the country as firefighters and emergency responders continue to battle the blazes. The football club Bohemians Praha 1905 decided to support Australia. The club will collect the money during the home game against Slavia Prague on February, 16th. “We are also preparing special souvenirs that will be on sale at the fan shop”, explained club spokesman Jan Strýhal. “Furthermore, part of the sale from the magazines and game tickets will be donated”, he added. The football club from Vršovice is historically connected with Australia. In May 1927, Prague club AFK Vrsovice undertook a long tour of Australia, playing 19 matches in several states, winning 13 and drawing three. The Czech side drew many fans to its games and the tour became a huge success but only after promoters insisted the touring team be called ‘Bohemians’. At the end of the tour, the club was presented with two live kangaroos, which took home to Prague and donated to the city zoo. The visitors to Australia were so taken by the warmth of their hosts that they made the temporary ‘Bohemians’ nickname their official...

The Tour de France has started five times abroad over the past eight years. Soon, the beginning of the most famous cycling race could take place in Prague. “Prague is a beautiful city, one of the most beautiful capitals. If it stands, we will judge it with the greatest possible attention,” said the general director of the legendary race, Christian Prudhomme. The lead course designer, Thierry Gouvenou, confirmed that Prague could enter the game of organizing the Tour. “I know that the City of Prague has already established contacts with our organizing agency ASO,” informed Gouvenou at the end of July. Negotiations are in progress. “We are acting in cooperation with the Czech Cycling Association, with Škoda Auto and with the organizing agency,” said Prague City Councilor for Education, Sport, Science and Business Support, Vít Šimral. The costs of the Tour organization or the start of the three-week race is millions of crowns. This year the Tour started in Brussels, next year it will start in Nice, and in 2021 the so-called Grand Départ will be host in Copenhagen. “We’ve been doing everything we can to get the Tour to start here. Negotiations are in progress, but I can’t conclude...
On November 2nd, 2019, the 19th edition of the oldest FMX event in Europe will take place at Prague's O2 Arena.
The Czech side were happy to joke at their own expense on social media. Slavia Praha takes on another of European football’s heavyweights on Matchday 3, which brings the first-ever meeting against Barcelona. Now, the Twitter account of Slavia changes the bio as “The club next to Barcelona in MD3 & MD4 Champions League schedule”. Slavia is currently sandwiched between second-placed Barcelona and fourth-placed Inter Milan in Group F but could climb to the top of the table with an unlikely victory over Ernesto Valverde’s juggernaut on Wednesday evening. They come up against the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann on Wednesday night, with Valverde likely to pick a full-strength team after the postponement of this weekend’s El Clasico against Real Madrid. Slavia knows they are up against it this midweek, but did not let the size of the challenge that awaits them ruin their sense of humour. Ahead of Wednesday night’s fixture, the Czech side changed the Twitter bio of their English account to read: “The club next to @FCBarcelona in MD3 and MD4 @ChampionsLeague schedule.” And the official Barcelona account posted a screenshot of the bio, replying; “10/10 bio. See you Wednesday, @slavia_eng.” xosotin chelseathông tin...
If we are thinking about what we can do for living a healthier lifestyle the first expected change should obviously occur to our food habits and thereafter naturally the second most important element is to add some activity to our daily schedule. As I am not a big fan of classic gyms, I always try to combine fun with a great workout at the same time. That’s why I look for an activity I can easily do both alone, or with a group of friends. Recently my friends dragged me into a bouldering studio. Climbing in the studio always looked to be fun and very easy activity. I was sure I could do it without any problems. But the opposite was the truth. Climbing is a 100% full-body workout. As you might think you work just your upper body, you actually putting in stress also your lower body, legs, shoulders, arms and of course your back. While you are making a great workout, you easily burn around 700 calories just by one session. But be prepared, climbing without proper muscle preparation can be challenging. I highly recommend getting into the shape before you kick off your climbing seasons. Build slowly strength...
Police arrested a total of 18 England fans over football-related disorder in Prague. The men, among thousands of supporters who traveled to the city for Friday night’s Euro 2020 qualifier against the Czech Republic, have all been released. The English supporters hurled bottles at just before 7 pm before kick-off, while local police in full riot gear returned fire with stun grenades during violent clashes near the Old Town Square. A group of Czechs were also held after they attacked a bar in a separate incident. Czech police said a total of 31 arrests had been made on Friday night. Until night fell, there had been little trouble, with police involvement limited to telling fans to remove flags from buildings. But ugly scenes erupted just before 7 pm after hundreds of fans took over a small square (behind the Tyn Church), chanting and singing. England manager Gareth Southgate, who had made a point of reminding fans to conduct themselves properly in the historic city earlier this week, described the trouble as ‘disappointing’ following the 2-1 defeat. The latest trouble involving England fans abroad follows similar scenes from recent trips to Amsterdam, Dortmund and Porto. A Czech police officer said: ‘The England fans were...
